We go camping each Easter with John's family and we always have a great time. This year we went near Bonita to a place called Stockton Pass. The weather was really nice when we got there on Friday morning, but by Friday evening it was getting pretty cold. We slept in a tent and the first night John and I were up off and on all night because of the wind whipping all around. Fortunately the boys slept soundly and didn't wake up at all. At about 5am it started to rain. We hustled and got the kids all moved away from the edges of the tent because the tent we were in had holes in it and leaked quite a bit. Luckily the boys slept through this as well and we even were lucky enough to somehow end up with all dry bedding. When we got up Saturday morning it was quite chilly and we were told it was supposed to snow 4-6 inches that evening. After hearing that we took down our leaky tent and moved into a trailer with John's sister Verlynne and her family. I was glad to have somewhere to go because although I didn't think we would get cold, I didn't want to take down our tent in a bunch of snow!
On Saturday John's cousin Kelly did her annual Easter egg hunt for all the kids. She hides eggs, some with candy and others with papers to redeem for prizes, and after the hunt is over she opens her "Bunny Store" for all the kids to come and collect their prizes. Our boys love this and try so hard each year to find the "golden egg" which has a grand prize in it. Trey has found it before and was certain he would find it again this year. He was really disappointed when someone else found it, but I think it made him all the more determined to find it next year! After the egg hunt Grandpa Perry brought out the cotton candy machine and made blue cotton candy for everyone. It was a hit!

How fun!! Cold and fun. We should go camping more. It's just not usually my first idea, but the kids love it when we do. With Bruce possibly not working a lot this summer we'll have to go.
We are DYING to go camping! I never thought to go for Easter, I think that is a swell idea! You guys are the coolest family. Ever.
