Happy 4th from Mount Graham!

We enjoyed another great weekend at Mount Graham. John's family always celebrates the 4th on Mount Graham, but this was the first time we had been there for it. Let's just say that the company was great, but the firework show left a lot to be desired. Watching from part way up a big mountain makes for a very tiny firework display. I was a little disappointed, but the show was perfect for our boys. They don't like the loudness of the fireworks, so from where we were there was no issue with noise. We were able to see the firework shows from Safford and Morenci. We only watched for a short time because the boys were tired and grouchy from a long day of playing, riding bikes, playing ball and building forts.

On Sunday we drove to the very top of Mount Graham where they have a little church meeting. When we first pulled into the clearing where church is held everyone was running around and pointing. Apparently a bear had just made it's way through the clearing and was headed on up the mountain. Our family was asked to be in charge of primary, so we got to take all the kids and play games and have lessons with them. Just as we finished our game and broke into classes the bear made another appearance right near where we were playing. We made it through primary and headed back for sacrament meeting and the bear showed up again. He caused quite the commotion throughout the morning, but never hurt anyone. I guess he just wanted to come to church too! The boys found this fun teeter totter (?) while we were at church and had a great time playing on it. It was another fun weekend at Mount Graham....until next time....
