Stitches in St. Johns

The boys and I took a fun trip to St. Johns a couple of weeks ago. We stopped in Taylor on the way and picked up my sister Traci and her boys to come hang out for a few days. We had a lot of fun! The boys love their freedom in St. Johns to be able to play outside and run around with their cousins Gage and Case. The boys were most looking forward to going swimming while we were there. The pool is just down the street from my parents house so it is all too tempting to be there and not go to the pool. Case had a baseball game while we were there so the boys got to go watch him play. They loved that! And of course one of the most important things to do in St. Johns during the summer is get snow cones. We hit up the snow cone stand several times while we were there. Kyson discovered his favorite flavor is coconut cream, I would have never guessed that!
While we were there Trey and his cousins were playing in Jodi's backyard and suddenly Trey came in screaming and crying. His finger was covered in blood and there was blood running everywhere. We got it cleaned up and I took one look at it and knew he was going to need stitches! Luckily my brother was due home from work anytime and would be able to take care of him. Trey was fighting mad and did not want to get stitches! He screamed and squirmed and fought his hardest, but as soon as his finger was numb he calmed right down and watched as Travis put in four stitches. He loved the whole process and when it was all said and done he was quite proud of his stitches.
Before stitches...

Getting the stitches in...

All better!

On Saturday we packed up and headed to Taylor to stay at Traci's for a day. When we got there we went to her in-laws where the boys got to ride Ty's horse and have dinner. We made foil dinners and smores. They boys love having fires outside and so this totally made their day. We had such a fun trip and are so glad we have grandparents and cousins so close so that we can visit often.

Ridge was too afraid to get on the horse so he posed with his brothers by the fire.

Poor kid! You are lucky to have a bro who knows how to deal with that kind of thing!

How fun for you to go to SJ and play with your family! Esp to enjoy the (nice) weather.
