Our poor blog has been so neglected lately. It's about time I get something posted so that Grandma (and anyone else who reads this pathetic blog) doesn't think we've become hermits and resorted to laying around and eating bonbons all day.
Kyson, Ridge and I recently visited the zoo and had such a fun time. This is the first time that we have been to the zoo and actually seen almost all of the animals. Usually they are all hiding out and we miss seeing a lot of them. The boys enjoyed all the sights and the playground where we ate lunch. Before we left we rode the carousel and they really liked that. Trey was really upset he missed going to the zoo because he had to go to school so I've promised him we'll go again sometime soon. Maybe spring break?...
This past week John worked hard and got our garden all setup for planting. We've done a garden for the last several years and have had a little luck here and there so we're trying it out again. It seems we always plant a little too late and the heat takes over our corn so we are going to plant earlier this year. We don't know a whole lot about what we're doing, but it's fun to experiment. Maybe one of these years we'll succeed with everything we plant.
The boys love posing for pictures. Kyson and Trey wanted pictures of them jumping on their ramp. They think they are so cool and love to turn and skid out right after they jump. Ridge just loves being in on the action, wherever it is!
We've really been enjoying the super nice weather we've been having. The boys love riding their bikes and playing with the kids in the neighborhood. We have a lot of kids in our neighborhood and it's easy to find someone to play with any afternoon of the week. A lot of the kids are older than our boys, but they are always so nice to include them in whatever game they are playing. They go easy on them and make them feel so big, included, and important. I love our neighborhood and although we don't want to live here forever, we are certainly enjoying it while we're here.
Trey is continuing to do well in school. He enjoys going, most days, and is learning how to read. It is amazing to see him sit down and read a book all by himself. We really like his teacher and are very impressed with his school. We had several schools to choose from when we enrolled him and I think we made a good choice. Kyson is amazing me everyday with everything he picks up on. He is writing his name and most of the letters of the alphabet. I hate to admit it, but I didn't teach him this. I think he has learned it from watching the PBS show Super Why. He is always asking what sounds go with what letters and trying to guess what letter words start with. I need to spend more time with him while he is so interested and he will be off to a good start when he starts school. Ridge is at my favorite stage for toddlers. He is just starting to talk and I love hearing him try to express himself, except when it's through screaming. He believes he is as big as his brothers and attempts to do most everything they do. He has just enough guts in him to try anything, but is not a full on daredevil. Ridge is just sweet enough that I have a hard time disciplining him, but I think it's time he learns he can't get away with everything.
Well, that's about it for now, hopefully the next post won't be too far behind...

YAY! so glad to see a post! :) Sounds like all is well with you guys. I miss our kids being that age. I was just sitting in sacrament meeting yesterday as they were passing the sacrament and realized (sp?) that Levi will be doing that in 6 months. Crazy!
Oh and Mimi learned a lot of her stuff from Dora. :)
I have been checking your blog to see if you have posted anything. I like reading your blog. It is always so good. I am always behind on my blog too. Oh well. Your boys are so cute.
Your blog is not pathetic! I'm sure glad you posted! LOL
Ha ha! Leese you make me laugh. I missed your blog too, but you have been doing fun mommy things so that makes up for it!
My kids LOVE PBS Super Why too. I find it funny, I think that's where Mati's "idukashun" is coming from too. Ha ha. She also picks up a lot from Marcor and what he "brings home" from school. I bet Kyson is doing the same with Trey. It's a blessing to have smart kids!
You are just too cute! We NEED to get together! SOON!
It's about time:) Sounds like things are busy, but fun at your casa:)
