Babies and Escudilla

We went to St. Johns and enjoyed a fun weekend with my family. Travis and Liz blessed their little baby boy, Cooper, in church on Sunday, but we got to go up on Friday so that we could spend some time with my family while we were there.

On Saturday morning we hiked/rode up Escudilla. We enjoyed the nice cool weather as well as the beautiful scenery of all the leaves changing color for fall. We stopped and had a picnic, played, took pictures, and then headed back down the mountain just as a little rain storm moved in. The boys had a great time and even got to ride by themselves on a horse named Christmas. It was the perfect horse for little kids and the boys were so excited to ride all by themselves.
Kyson loves my Dad's horse Blacky and was insistent that he ride down on him. Blacky however was a little anxious to get back to the trailer and Kyson didn't enjoy the quick, bumpy ride as much as he though he would. Ridge enjoyed the ride up and made sure to wave at anyone who passed by him along the trail.

Trey, Case, and Gage had a great time coming back down as they sang Old McDonald, Happy Birthday, and many other tunes along the way. John was a trooper and hiked all the way up and all the way down, and I (who didn't remember the hike to be all that hard) was grateful to my Dad for bringing his mules to bail me out half way up the mountain. Thanks Dad!

We went to visit my Grammy (my Dad's mom) after coming off the mountain and enjoyed sitting outside in the nice weather talking and watching all the kids play. She fell and broke her hip awhile back, but I was very surprised to see her looking and acting so well. I was glad that I got a chance to see her and visit for awhile.

We spent the rest of our time just hanging out at my parent's house. The boys played non-stop. They jumped on the trampoline and were so excited that they were allowed to run from Grandma's house to Gage and Case's house all by themselves. John had a great time sitting in my Dad's recliner and was so excited to call me into the TV room to show me that he could watch 8 football games at the same time on my Dad's big screen TV. I spent a lot of my time holding and cuddling the new little babies, Cooper and Stran, and visiting with my sisters and mom. It can't get much better than that. We had a great time and can't wait to go visit again soon.

Glad you had a good weekend. Sorry you couldn't join us for Bunko, but TOTALLY understand. I am glad that you saw Grammy too. I need to make a trip up there and see her, being so close to my in-laws there should be no reason not to go see her! BTW your blog is looking great!

You have these family vacations down! I think you've been on more this summer than we have in 3 yrs! Love the PE story and of course baby Stran is adorable. He looks so much like Tracy to me!

I am so jealous that you got to go home! I am so homesick for SJ it makes me sick!! I think I just miss my parents and the way the air smells around the holidays. {SIGH} It sounds like you had a fun time. Your boys are so very cute!!
