Randomness...

Just a few words and pics from all that we've been up to lately...

At the beginning of March, Grandpa and Grandma Heap took Trey and I to see the Harlem Globetrotters. (Kyson refused to go because he thought it would be too loud and dark.) It was a great show and Trey loved every minute. I couldn't even get him to take his eyes away from the court for a picture.

He got his Phoenix Suns jersey signed by one of the players, Hi Rise.
It seemed like every kid in the stadium had a Globetrotters ball and Trey was pitifully longing for one of his own. I explained to him that we were lucky to just get to come and that we didn't have to buy something in addition to getting to come. I held off the entire game and was still holding my ground as we headed out, but then Uncle Spence came to his rescue. He just couldn't bare to see him so sad. We headed to Johnny Rockets for milkshakes after the game and as you can see Trey is the happiest boy on Earth!

During Spring Break we hiked up to the wind caves. I didn't think I was a big fan of hiking, but I actually really enjoyed the hike. The boys had a blast and made it to the top with ease, especially Ridge who rode on John's back most of the time.

We made it to the very top!

This is actually at the wind cave, although you can't tell because I shot the picture from the wrong angle. The wind caves got their name because they are caves that were carved out of the mountain by the wind.

Our next adventure during Spring Break was a skiing trip. My mom watched the boys for us while John and I hit the slopes. We hadn't been for quite a few years, but it all came back to me, including the sore, shaking legs at the end of the day. It was a beautiful day and John and I enjoyed the time with my brother Spencer and his friend Jami.

Here's me taking it slow down the slopes. I'm not a fast, dare devil skier like John who was whipping all around and snapping pictures. I just like to enjoy my way down and be all in one piece when I get to the bottom.

A couple of pictures of the snow along the road on the way to Sunrise. We thought the boys would think it was pretty cool to see the snow taller than their dad and the car.

March 28 was a long awaited day for Kyson...it was the day he finally turned 5! We had a party for him on the day before his birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Enjoying snow cones with lots of friends

Lots of present fun

The green basketball jersey cake with the black number 5. Kyson even drew a picture of how it wanted it so that I would get it right. Too bad the wind blew too much to actually get the candles to light, we just had to pretend.

Kyson was so excited to wake up on the morning of his birthday. All the excitement building up for this day was fun and he was glad it was FINALLY here!

All Kyson asked for for his birthday was goggles and a Lightening McQueen umbrella. We got him a few other things, but as you can see, he was thrilled with the umbrella!

Kyson had a little accident on the trampoline just before it was time for candles. I'm not sure the whole story, but something about Ridge poking him in the eye. A sore eye, mixed with a crazy busy weekend, mixed with a tired, newly turned five year old, was not a good mix for a happy birthday ending. Kyson did put up with us though and blew out the candles on his heart shaped, green iced sugar cookies. He even let me snap a few pictures.

A little help from the brothers!

We started celebrating Easter a little early this year. We got together with a bunch of friends on Monday evening and had a picnic and Easter egg hunt. It was a lot of fun with a lot of friends...

The whole gang

Trey, Kyson, and Ridge waiting for pictures to get over with so they could begin the big hunt.

After hunt...everyone was successful!

Kyson and his friend Connor got a little side tracked from the hunt and started chasing a little bird. The poor bird ran and ran and did eventually get away from them.

My cheesy Ridge. I think he actually enjoyed the hunt the most. He loved finding the eggs, opening the eggs, eating the candy and wouldn't let his basket out of sight.
Three handsome boys, all ready for church...
And most of all we're enjoying our super nice weather while it lasts!
